Where academic foundations meet real-world learning.
Pathfinder Forge Studio is a hybrid, project-based microschool serving families in the Plainfield and Naperville area for students in ages 8-13 with plans to expand. We blend strong instruction in math, reading, writing, science, and social studies with hands-on projects, modeling, life skills, and responsible AI use — so students don’t just learn information, they learn how to apply it. In person day's will be located at Valhallan Plainfield as a designated meeting space to support our students learning.
We believe students thrive when learning is active, meaningful, and connected to the real world — without sacrificing academic growth.
At Pathfinder Forge Studio, students work toward the same core academic skills families expect from a strong school program without the traditional school set up:
Math fluency and problem solving
Reading comprehension and vocabulary
Writing, communication, and presentation
Scientific reasoning and experimentation
Social studies, civics, and real-world economics
Instead of teaching these subjects in isolation, we design project-based, modeled learning experiences where students read, write, calculate, analyze, build, and present as part of meaningful work.
This approach helps students understand not just what to learn, but why it matters. At Pathfinder Forge Studio, we believe children learn best by doing. Our mission is to create a flexible, supportive learning studio where students explore big ideas through projects, creativity, and real-world problem solving.
